This is a very simple example of a stem and leaf plot showing the number of students enrolled in a dance class in the past twelve years. The number of leaves (12) is equal to the number of data items in the diagram. The total number of students is 1146 calculated by adding all the plotted the numbers (81, 84, 85, 86, 93, 94, 97, 100, 102, 103, 110, 111).
